🐉 Dragon Boat at EuroGames Lyon 2025!
Dragon Boat is making its debut at the EuroGames! Before the GayGames in Valencia 2026, join us in Lyon to compete against other European teams in a fun and festive atmosphere 🌊. The Grand Large lake, which will also host rowing and sailing competitions, promises to be the heart of an exciting competition.
📅 Dates and categories
- Thursday, July 24, 2025: Open and All Gender categories (races and finals)
- Friday, July 25, 2025: Women and Recreational categories
⚠️ Required experience
Both categories require prior Dragon Boat experience (no beginners). If you’ve paddled in a team before, this competition is for you!
👥 Registration
Register as a team or individually. If your team isn’t complete, the organizers will form teams with individual entries.
🏁 Competition format
Two days of competition. Races will be held in groups of 4 boats, and each team will be directed to its final based on its placement in the previous race.

Competitive (10-seater Dragon Boat, 200m):
- Open
- Women
- All Gender (5 people of one gender and 5 of another)
- Recreational
The 10-seater Dragon Boat is also open to associations, such as dragon ladies, in the Recreational category.

Unfortunately, there will be no specific Parasport category for the Dragon Boat competition at EuroGames Lyon 2025. However, we remain committed to making the event as inclusive as possible in other disciplines. If you are interested in participating in other adapted competitions, feel free to contact us for more information.
The competition is open to paddlers with previous Dragon Boat experience. If you have already paddled as part of a team, this is the competition for you. Beginners are not allowed in order to guarantee the safety and level of the competition 🐉.
The Dragon Boat will take place over two days:
- Thursday 24 July 2025: Open and All Gender categories (races and finals)
- Friday 25 July 2025: Women and Recreational categories. Each team will take part in several races, and will progress to the final according to its place in the previous races 📅.
You can register as a crew or individually. If your team isn’t complete, don’t worry! The organisers will form teams from the individual entries 👥.

- Recreational, which is also open to associations such as dragons ladies 🏆.
Races are held on 10-seater Dragon Boats, with a distance of 200m. Races in groups of 4 boats make for intense and dynamic competition, with a ranking for each final 🏁.
Yes, spectators are welcome to come and cheer on the teams and enjoy the friendly atmosphere on the Grand Large lake 🌊.
