🏉 Quadball at EuroGames Lyon 2025: Fun and Inclusivity!
The Quadball events at EuroGames Lyon 2025 will take place at the Stade Clos Layat and are organized in partnership with the Caracals Lyon Quadball. Whether you’re a seasoned player or a complete beginner, this event is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and full of fun!
Dates:
- Thursday, July 24: Initiation and discovery sessions
- Saturday, July 26: Tournament day (Round Robin format with semi-finals and finals)
Mixed-gender sport: Quadball is inherently mixed, with no gender categories. All genders are welcome!
🏉 What is Quadball?
Quadball is a unique sport blending handball, dodgeball (sportive dodgeball), and rugby. The goal is to score points by throwing balls through hoops while dodging or throwing dodgeballs at opponents. And yes, all this happens while staying on a stick!
Things get even more exciting at the 20-minute mark when the flag enters the game—players can switch roles and try to capture it!
🏉 Tournament Format
The tournament will follow a Round Robin format, culminating in semi-finals and finals. Ideally, the tournament will feature 4 teams, but the adaptable format can accommodate up to 6 teams.
Team registration:
- Players can register individually or as a team.
- Teams should ideally have gender diversity and include a mix of experience levels.
- Organizers reserve the right to balance teams on the day to ensure fairness across gender, position, and experience.
