🏐 Volleyball at EuroGames Lyon 2025
The Volleyball section of CARGO, the VCGL association and Contrepied are proud to bring you the biggest LGBTQIA+ volleyball event of the year during the EuroGames 2025 in Lyon!
Join us for three days of intense competition, with 2 days of matches and 1 day of finals, open to all skill levels and all tournament formats. Whether you’re a mixed, men’s or FLINTA team (Women, Lesbians, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender), come show your skills and celebrate volleyball in the heart of Lyon!
Player check-in will start at 8:30 am.
Registration without a team is not possible.
Tournaments
- A men’s/mixed tournament with a net height of 2.43m, open to all.
Categories: A, B+, B, B-, C+, C-
- A FLINTA tournament with a net height of 2.24m.
Categories: A/B+, B-/C
(Please note: levels may be adjusted or merged depending on the number of registered teams.)
Important
Teams of different levels may play against each other if registration numbers do not allow for separate tournaments.
We strongly recommend that you select the right level to ensure balanced competition. If unsure, choose the higher level.
Participants can only play on one team.
Exception for teams reduced to 5 players: they may borrow one player to play as 6, with the approval of the opposing team.
The tournament will follow the rules of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
Any modifications (e.g., substitutions, ball touching the net) will be announced to captains on the first morning.
In a team, matching or numbered jerseys are not required. If you have them, feel free to use them — but you can also come in costume (see the gallery of our previous tournaments).
The only exception is if you are playing with a libero, who must be clearly identifiable (e.g., team in white, libero in black).
⚠️ No lockers will be available to store your belongings: you will be responsible for keeping them around the play area.

The volleyball tournament at EuroGames Lyon 2025 will take place in a venue that is accessible to people with reduced mobility (PMR). However, if you have a disability and wish to participate, we encourage you to contact our team. We will do everything possible to adapt the competition to ensure you can play under the best conditions. Our goal is to make the tournament accessible to everyone.
