🤽♂️ Water Polo at EuroGames Lyon 2025
Welcome to Lyon for the Water Polo tournament! Join us in teams of 10 to 15 players at the outdoor pool of La Duchère.
Matches will be played across the width of the 50-meter pool, lasting 10 to 12 minutes depending on the number of participants. During these 2 days of competition, you will take part in group stage matches, followed by ranking matches and finals.
Three level groups
- Competition (6 teams)
- Recreational (8 teams)
- Chill (8 teams)

Friday 25th July
- 11:00 am → Olympic medalist Matthew Mitcham will perform a diving show from the 5-meter board. Olympic medalist Jérémy Stravius (swimming) challenges you to beat him in a 50 m swim with a 20 m handicap!
- 4:00 pm → During the second break, performance by Iamcatchella, drag dancer and contortionist. Check them out here.
Saturday 26th July
- 12:10 pm → Performance by moonlight_shana: https://www.instagram.com/moonlight_shana/
All accompanied by a marching band. - 2:50 pm → Paris puts on a show! Take a comfy seat in a float.
And enjoy a few aquatic surprises! - 5:15 pm → Group photo in the pool with all participants and floaties
- 5:30 pm → Medal ceremony

You can find the tournament rules here.
The Competition group will play a round-robin format (each team plays all others), followed by placement matches: 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, 5th vs 6th.
The Recreational and Chill groups will play in two pools each, which will cross over in the final phase in a ranking bracket (quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final).
Organisation
- No level required to participate.
- The competition will take place in no-gender teams, with 100% male or female teams allowed.
- Three level groups will be set up to balance the matches.
- Each team will play at least 4 matches.
Registration
Registrations can be made as a team or as an individual. If you register individually, please indicate your level, so we can assign you to a team in need of players.
