🤸 Gymnastics at EuroGames Lyon 2025: Expression, Skill, and Inclusion

The Gymnastics competition at EuroGames Lyon 2025 will take place on Thursday, July 24, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, organized by ALGM and Les Galipettes. Open to all skill levels and all genders, this event promotes creativity, technique, and inclusivity.

📋 Format & Categories

Participants can register for one event only among the following:

Floor
Vault
All-Around (Floor + Vault)

Each discipline offers three skill levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

All events are mixed-gender, with no distinction between male, female, or non-binary athletes.

🧘 Floor Exercise

Gymnasts perform a free routine lasting up to 2 minutes. Routines must include at least 8 elements, selected from an official list and covering the following 6 element families:

Flexibility and holds
Strength elements
Jumps and turns
Forward rotations
Backward and lateral rotations
Balance and body alignment

⚠️ A –1 point penalty will apply for each missing family.

Optional bonuses:

+0.5 pt: Presentation with music
+0.5 pt: Original composition
+0.5 pt: Movements matching the music
+0.5 pt: Costume matching the theme

Each element is rated by difficulty:

0.5 pt: A and B
1 pt: C and D
1.5 pt: E and F
2 pt: G

Allowed elements per level:

Beginner: A and B only
Intermediate: A to D (including at least 2 in C or D)
Advanced: C to G (including at least 2 in E, F, or G)

💡 Elements that fail or are not recognized by judges may be attempted again once. Only the top 8 elements will count toward the final score.

Penalties:

–0.5 pt: Missing salutation at the start or end of the routine
–1 pt: Fall
–1 pt: Missing family

🏃‍♀️ Vault

Each gymnast performs 2 vaults. The highest-scoring vault will be retained. The two vaults may be different, but must use the same take-off surface and correspond to the same skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

Judging will follow the FSCF code, and judges are trained by the Fédération Sportive et Culturelle de France.

🏅 All-Around Competition

Participants in the All-Around must compete in both Floor and Vault at the same skill level. Their final score will be the sum of both performances.

Individual registration only. Each participant must select one event only (Floor, Vault, or All-Around).
