GOVERNMENT

The EuroGames Lyon 2025, Europe’s largest inclusive sports festival, benefits from the strong support of the French government and the Ministry of Sports, through the Interministerial Delegation for Major Sporting Events (DIGES). This commitment reflects the State’s dedication to promoting sports accessible to all, without discrimination, in alignment with the values of inclusion and equality.

Thanks to DIGES’ support, the EuroGames are fully integrated into France’s national strategy for major sporting events, maximizing their impact in terms of territorial development, accessibility, and long-term social legacy. This partnership helps secure essential funding, ensuring adequate infrastructure, optimized reception and security measures, and enhanced logistical support for the thousands of athletes and visitors expected.

Beyond financial support, the government’s involvement translates into effective institutional coordination, facilitating exchanges between various stakeholders (local authorities, federations, sports clubs, and associations). This engagement also enables the implementation of structural initiatives, such as volunteer training, awareness campaigns against discrimination, and the development of more inclusive sports practices over the long term.

The French government’s commitment to the EuroGames Lyon 2025 demonstrates a strong ambition: to make sports a driver of diversity, inclusivity, and social cohesion, while ensuring a lasting impact on local clubs and communities.

DILCRAH

DILCRAH (Délégation Interministérielle à la Lutte contre le Racisme, l’Antisémitisme et la Haine anti-LGBT) is a French public institution created in 2014. Its mission is to coordinate the State’s actions in the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination, including anti-LGBT hatred. Reporting to the Prime Minister, the DILCRAH draws up national action plans, supports local initiatives and works closely with associations, institutions and civil society players. Its aim is to promote a fairer, more egalitarian and inclusive society by raising public awareness, training professionals and supporting victims of discrimination.

Grand Lyon Metropole

The Métropole de Lyon provides institutional support to the EuroGames Lyon 2025, affirming its commitment to inclusive and accessible sports for all. This event, which will bring together 4,000 participants from July 23 to 26, 2025, fully aligns with the values of diversity and equality upheld by the Métropole.

Its support includes logistical assistance, access to infrastructure, and financial backing. It also mobilizes its services to promote the event and raise awareness among residents about inclusion in sports.

The EuroGames 2025 are part of the Métropole’s strategy to combat discrimination and foster social cohesion. Through this collaboration, the Métropole de Lyon reaffirms its ambition to make the region a model of equality, respect, and diversity, further strengthening its legacy in inclusive sports.

City of Villeurbanne

The City of Villeurbanne is joining forces with EuroGames Lyon 2025, affirming its support for inclusive sports open to everyone. Committed to equality and the fight against discrimination, Villeurbanne provides institutional support to this major event, which will bring together 4,000 participants from July 23 to 26, 2025.

Its support includes making sports facilities available, providing logistical assistance, and actively promoting the event. The city also highlights the EuroGames through its initiatives for social cohesion and equal rights.

By hosting certain competitions and raising awareness among its residents about diversity in sports, Villeurbanne strengthens its commitment to a more inclusive society. Its involvement reflects its dedication to making sports a tool for unity and empowerment for all.

Only Lyon

Only Lyon, the territorial brand of the City of Lyon, actively supports the EuroGames Lyon 2025 as a major event for the city, highlighting diversity, inclusion, and openness to all. As a promotional partner, Only Lyon plays a key role in boosting the event’s national and international visibility. Through its communication platform, it showcases Lyon as a welcoming, modern metropolis committed to fighting discrimination, particularly those related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Lyon 1 Claude Bernard University – LGBT+ Chair

The LGBTQI+ Chair of Université Lyon 1 actively supports the EuroGames Lyon 2025, an event that embodies the values of inclusion, respect, and diversity. As part of its academic and social mission, the Chair works to promote the visibility of LGBTQI+ individuals and combat discrimination, particularly in the field of sports. By supporting the EuroGames, it highlights the importance of creating an inclusive and accessible sports environment for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Its involvement includes knowledge dissemination, organizing conferences and workshops related to the event, and engaging students and researchers in discussions on diversity and equality in sports. The LGBTQI+ Chair of Lyon 2 reaffirms its role as a catalyst for ideas and practices aimed at strengthening the representation and acceptance of LGBTQI+ communities in the sports world.

The FIER Foundation

EGLSF

The EGLSF (European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation) is a European organization committed to promoting inclusion and equality in sports. Founded in 1989, it works to eliminate discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. With over 120 LGBT+ sports clubs across Europe, the EGLSF licenses events such as the EuroGames. The federation collaborates with European institutions, sports federations, and local associations to promote the rights of LGBT+ individuals and ensure that sports are a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

OSL

The Office des Sports de Lyon (OSL) is an institution dedicated to promoting and developing sport in the city of Lyon. Founded to support local sports associations and encourage all Lyon residents to take part in sport, the OSL coordinates a range of sporting events and initiatives. It works closely with clubs, federations and local authorities to offer sporting opportunities that are accessible to everyone, whatever their age or level of ability. The OSL’s mission is to promote health, well-being and social cohesion through sport, emphasising the values of fair play, respect and inclusion.

Valencia 2026 Gay Games

The Gay Games Valencia 2026 are proud to support EuroGames Lyon 2025, a key event for inclusive sports in Europe. More than just a competition, these games carry a strong message: fighting against discrimination and promoting sports that are accessible to all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

Since 1982, the Gay Games and EuroGames have shared the same mission: celebrating diversity and making sports a tool for inclusion and empowerment. We know that many challenges remain, from gender stereotypes to LGBTQIphobia in sports. This is why we fully support EuroGames Lyon 2025, which will champion these values through 35 sports disciplines, a cultural program, and a strong commitment to inclusion.

The legacy of this event is essential. By working with clubs, associations, and local institutions, EuroGames Lyon 2025 will help foster better integration of LGBTQI+ individuals in sports over the long term, an effort that fully aligns with the mission of the Gay Games Valencia 2026.

The LGBT+ Sports Federation

The LGBT+ Sports Federation is an organisation dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in sport. Founded to provide a safe and welcoming space for LGBT+ people, the Federation works to raise awareness against discrimination and to promote the values of respect and equality in the sporting world. It organises sporting events, supports LGBT+ clubs and athletes, and works with various associations and institutions to enhance the visibility and rights of LGBT+ people in sport. The mission of the LGBT+ Sports Federation is to create an environment where everyone can practice their sport freely and proudly, without fear of discrimination.

Cardiff 2027 EuroGames

The EuroGames 2027 will take place in Cardiff!

After Lyon in 2025, the city of Cardiff will host the EuroGames 2027, continuing the mission of promoting inclusive and accessible sports for all. As the vibrant capital of Wales, Cardiff is committed to delivering an exceptional event where diversity, respect, and inclusion will be at the heart of both the competitions and celebrations.

Organized by the EGLSF (European Gay & Lesbian Sport Federation), the EuroGames are Europe’s largest inclusive sports festival, bringing together thousands of athletes from all backgrounds and identities. In 2027, Cardiff will showcase a wide range of sports disciplines, a cultural and festive program, and a strong commitment to equality and diversity in sports.

L’Autre Cercle Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, a leading advocate for LGBTQI+ inclusion in the professional world, partners with EuroGames Lyon 2025.

For over 25 years, L’Autre Cercle has worked to ensure an inclusive and supportive professional environment, guiding employers in developing diversity policies, notably through the LGBT+ Commitment Charter. The association also strives to change mindsets by promoting LGBT+ and Ally Role Models in the workplace. However, discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity does not stop at the doors of businesses—it also exists in sports, where many barriers persist for LGBTQI+ individuals, including gender stereotypes, implicit or explicit exclusions, and gender-based and sexual violence.

SOS Homophobie, committed to inclusive sports with EuroGames Lyon 2025.

SOS Homophobie is a feminist organization fighting against lesbophobia, gayphobia, biphobia, transphobia, and intersexophobia. It is built on three core values: kindness, inclusion, and independence, and pursues three main missions: support, prevention, and advocacy.

Through awareness-raising actions in schools and workplaces, the organization of festive and activist events, the publication of reports and surveys, legal assistance, and youth prevention efforts, the association’s volunteers work daily to combat discrimination.

True to its values, SOS Homophobie actively supports EuroGames Lyon 2025, the largest inclusive sports festival in Europe. This event represents a unique opportunity to promote diversity and equality in sports, allowing everyone, regardless of their identity or orientation, to practice sports without fear of discrimination.
